When to Buy an External Hardrive

When becoming a blogger or starting a business, you’re probably going to be taking more photos or videos depending on your niche but if you’re like me and regularly take pictures and videos, then you’ll also have a few added applications to your laptop that are going to clog up its memory.

Saving Time and Money

I’ve found my external hard drive to not only be useful for storing all my files but also for backing them up as your laptop/computer will try and automatically backup your files to store them safely somewhere (for Mac users) on the cloud and for plenty of us out there, I’d rather pay a one-off fee than a monthly one, especially when I’m paying for apps like Adobe Photoshop…

I chose the Toshiba HDTB410EK3AA 1TB Canvio Basics USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive – Black  from Amazon UK. Click the link to purchase yours.

Compared to the good old fashioned USB, which is still proving valuable to storage to people who simply want to transfer files over to another computer, however, I’d recommend the external drive because you generally get more storage for your buck!

Overall, 1 terabyte was perfect for my monthly backups but also I try to delete any unwanted photos that I don’t really need as I like to be organised but if feel you’re not as much of a neat freak like me, then I’d get more than 1 terabyte.
